She was born on March 26, 1934 in Haiti to Ludovic Celestin and Lucilia Guerrier Celestin. She found her soul mate for life 50 years ago when she married the late Myrtho Antoine Jadotte from Haiti.
Marguerite was a registered nurse and she attended the nursing school connected with L’hopital Generale de Port-au-Prince where she graduated top of her class. Marguerite started her career after receiving her license as a registered nurse at L’hopital de Petit Goave. The unique quality that distinguished her as a nurse was her passion in helping her patients and was able to connect with them as if they were members of her own family. She continued to study in her field with the desire to be a better nurse. She moved to Chicago, Illinois in the late sixties followed by her late husband Myrtho to provide a better life for her family. In Chicago, Marguerite worked in various hospitals and spent the rest of her career as a Neonatal nurse where she was responsible for newborn babies and premature babies. She also worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of a major hospital also in Chicago. She attended regular seminars throughout her career and was awarded a number of prestigious awards for her accomplishments and her long term service as a registered nurse. In spite of a career of 50+ years as a nurse, Marguerite was an amazing mother who always found time for her family. Because of the wonderful mother that she was, her daughter learned how to be the best mother that she is today. We always knew how blessed we were to have a mother like her. She was also a gentle hearted grandmother to her Nephew. His memory of her was a kind and loving person. She always made sure he had what he needed and she wanted him to always leave her home never hungry. She cared for him at a young age and he will be forever grateful. He loves her so much, and he knows she loved him too.
Marguerite loved playing a card game called Bezique with her late husband, doing puzzles, and she always thought us the importance of treating everyone with respect. She also enjoyed reading and giving money to different charities. She had a passion for the soap operas which she watched diligently on her days off. She had a generous heart always giving tips to everyone. She once tipped the nurse during her doctor's visit. This will give you an idea of the kind of woman she was. Marguerite didn’t discriminate when it came to being charitable. She was generous with her money, she was generous with her time and she opened her heart to family and friends alike. Her friends loved her and have always kept in touch with her even after they left Chicago or the US. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandson, family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Mario Jadotte, Michele Jadotte Simmons, and her grandson: Joseph Simmons III.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, February 11, 2022 at Palm Eastern Mortuary. Burial will be held immediately following at Palm Eastern Cemetery.
