Marian K. Rogas

Marian K. Rogas, 85, resident of Henderson, NV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Cottages of Green Valley Assisted Living facility in Henderson. She was born Nov. 25, 1926 in Chicago Heights, Ill., to Fred and Agnes Lennertz. Her brother, James Lennertz preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Laverne Lennertz Olsen of Tucson, Ariz. She grew up in Merriville, Ind., where she found her lifepartner and husband, Frank G. Rogas. They were married August 14, 1948 in Gary, Ind. Their firstborn son, Randall K. Rogas, arrived in 1949, followed by their younger son, Richard A. Rogas in 1952. Marian and Frank lived in Merriville, Ind. with their young family until approximately 1960 when they relocated to Tucson, where Frank continued to build his construction business. Marian and Frank moved to Las Vegas in 1974 and enjoyed their life together until, sadly, Frank passed away in 1988. Marian was blessed with another love in her life, Len Hertenstein, with whom she enjoyed several happy years until he passed away in 2006. Marian is survived by her son, Randall K. Rogas and his partner, Elizabeth Thompson, of Tucson; son, Richard A. Rogas and daughter-in-law, Melody L. Rogas, of Henderson; three grandchildren: Sam G. Rogas and his partner, Chelsea Benton, of Las Vegas; Adam P. Rogas and his wife, Barbara E. Rogas, of Henderson; India Lee (Rogas) Davis and her husband, Jake L. Davis, of Keller, Texas; three great-grandchildren, great-granddaughter Dylan Lee Davis and great-grandson Jagger T. Davis, of Keller, Texas; and great-granddaughter, Raedyn G. Rogas, of Las Vegas. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89121. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 21, at St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89121. Internment of Marian's urn will immediately follow the mass at Palm Mortuary-Eastern.
