Deepest and sincerest to condolences to Celia, Ryan, Patrick and Andrew. Dear Max,  somehow  you had an impact and  influence with my future and Jun  Legaspi's  when you took us in driving from Seattle to NJ.  A very nice, helpful and trusting man. Will miss you much. I would like to share our condolences and prayers to the Ocampo family, Max Ocampo’s children, Ryan, Andrew and Patrick and especially to our beloved sister, Celia Leyson, in this time of sadness. I just want to share the last words Max told me before we left for Los Angeles with my wife Bokiks. That last day I saw him, he was sleeping most of the time and quiet when awake.  As soon as he saw me passing by, he told me, “Mangan na kayu, Boy” or “Eat now, Boy” and told my sister to give us some Catholic meals.  That day, he did not complain about the strong smell of garlic and onions being cooked inside the house.  I knew this by experience, during my 10 months sick leave, that your sense of smell is strong that I gave my wife a bad look whenever I saw her cutting those garlic and onions.  I knew that day would be my last time to see him alive.  Yet, before we left, Max last words to me was a big “Salamat Boy” meaning “Thank you”.  We stayed in his house for three days, served good Catholic food and we had our own trail inside the house so as not to wake him while we sleep.  Yet, his last words was “Thank You”.  In my opinion, Max was a lucky persion.  Whenever we go to a casino, most of us lost our money and Max is the last man standing with a big smile on his face and gives us balato or part of his jackpot. The last time I saw him walk was during the wedding of Andrew and I took picture of him smiling.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Max.  He will always be remembered as a kind and fun-loving uncle. When we lived in New Jersey, my mother Lourdes (his cousin) and my Dad would take my brother, sisters and me to visit him on weekends and we always had the best time at his house.  We have not had a chance to see him in person recently but he was always present at our virtual prayer sessions to support our family when we lost our loving auntie Ced (my mother's sister and his cousin) and my dear mother Lourdes.  Rest in peace Uncle Max. Our love and prayers are with you Tita Celia and family.
