Mike was born on February 18, 1948 to Mary and Maurice Bernstein in Chicago, Illinois. He met his beloved wife of 54 years, Carole, at a B’nai B’rith dance at 16 years old. They were married at 20 and moved to the Chicago suburbs. They relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico for Mike’s job as a buyer for Associated Grocers. They moved even further West and became residents of California, living there for the next 30 years. Carole’s mom would often say, “Mike is the hardest worker, so you won’t need to worry about never having everything.” After 10 years of infertility, their first miracle child, Randy, was born and their life changed yet again. 12 years later their second miracle child, Janna, was born and their family was complete. Mike was someone who loved the law and nicknamed himself “Mr. Detectivo!” He was the owner/operator of Mike Bernstein’s Process Serving. He especially loved the adventure and mystery of locating people and would often share his wild stories. A true pet lover (he was especially proud of his German Shepherd, Troy), Mike always had at least 2-3 pets (dogs and cats) running around the house. He passed along his love of animals to his children. As a lover of sweets, he gave his sister, the nickname “Candy” and would often share that as a child he would keep treats in his cheek for “later.” Mike is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife, Carole; children, Randy (Kharen) and Janna; two grandchildren, Asher and Levi; sister, Candy; and nephew, Paul. The family requests that memorial donations in Mike's memorial be made to the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health - Las Vegas. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM at King David Cemetery. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements
