Klaric Obrad was born on March 1, 1931, in Nevesinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He served in the Navy for three years, and after that he went to Sarajevo and Mostar where he graduated from the Police Academy. His first job was in the area of the Mostar. Around the 60’s, he got a job in Neum as a police station commander, and there he performed his duty until 1975 when he retired. In 1968, together with his wife Bosa, they got their first daughter Zeljka; two years after, they got another daughter Svjetlana. In 1978, they had their son Dragomir. In his retirement days, he enjoyed the life with his kids and family, until beginning of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because of the war in the country, together with his kids and wife, from 1992 to 2001, he was forced to move around Bosnia and Serbia finding a way to survive. In 1991, God gave them their first granddaughter Tamara, and in 1992 their first grandson Milos. Not long after that, in 1993, another granddaughter Tatjana, and in 1996 a grandson Stefan. In the search for a better life, at the end of 2001, with his son and wife, he immigrated to Las Vegas, Nevada and a few years later he became a U.S. Citizen. He liked to play a good game of chess with his friends and to talk politics, current as well as from the old days. He loved nature and he tried to feed and tame as many as possible wild animals in our backyard. Daily he talked with Ćiro (our macaw) and fed koi fishes in a little pond in the backyard. On December 16, 2014, in early morning hours, his heart stopped beating. He fell asleep in Christ, expecting his soon arrival. He was 83-years old. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
