

Mona is survived by her husband Arnold "Arnie" Rudnick, son Joel, daughter in Law Amanda, and granddaughter Amelia Rose, who live in the Chicago area. She is also survived by a sister Lynne Matson of Indiana, brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Iris Rudnick of Chicago, and many nieces and nephews on both sides who she loved very much.
Mona was born on July 24, 1947, in Lafeyette, Indiana. She grew up in Fowler, Indiana, a small farming community. At 18, she was adventurous and moved to Miami, FL where she worked for a year and had some fun but came back to the Midwest and decided to move to Chicago and became a nanny for a family in the northern suburbs while attending dental hygienist school. She was not challenged enough and decided to go to Nursing School at Northwestern Hospital and graduated as an RN in 1973. Mona met her husband Arnie while in her second year of nursing through a mutual friend.
Mona and Arnie were married in September 1973 and lived in West Rogers Park in Chicago. Bought their first house in 1980 and lived there for 25 years before moving to North Las Vegas, NV. In 2021 during the Pandemic, they moved to their current house in Sun City Anthem in Henderson, NV.
In August of 1978 son Joel was adopted at 5 days old. He was her light and brought so much happiness to her life. Joel and Amanda married in 2019, and then in July 2022 Amelia Rose was born a grandchild she so adored and loved.
Mona worked various nursing jobs over a number of years until she decided Hospice was her calling. She spent the last 25 years working in Hospice both Chicago and Las Vegas until she retired in 2011.
Mona endured health challenges throughout her life including multiple sclerosis, cancer and amputation only to name a few. Mona always had a positive attitude just taking things in stride, a beautiful smile on her face and a wonderful personality. It truly helped her through her life.
Mona and her husband traveled extensively after Arnie retired early in 2005. They traveled to many places around the world. She was amazed with her disabilities that she was able to go and see these places. Israel, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Bali and Thailand as well as many places throughout the US.
Mona loved to read and belonged to several book clubs through the years. Her most favorite hobby was beading she made Jewelry of all kinds she sold some but mostly liked giving her completed pieces away. It gave her pleasure. Most recently she started making mosaic pieces and was able to complete several before she died.
She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. A beautiful sole.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV. King David Memorial Chapel made the arrangements.
