Born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Isidore and Lillian Oberman, he earned degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Creighton University School of Law. He built a career as an estate, personal injury and defense attorney, arguing before the Nebraska Supreme Court and maintaining a private practice with his wife, Myra. Together they also developed a real estate business before retiring to Las Vegas over twenty years ago.
He was active in community organizations throughout his life, including serving twice as president of his synagogue in Omaha. In retirement, he pursued photography with an emphasis on color infrared photography, earning awards and exhibiting his work publicly. He was a devoted member of his photography critique group. He was known for his quiet strength, his devotion to family, and a dry sense of humor often marked by a wide smile before a story. A lifelong Cubs fan, he especially cherished the 2016 World Series, and he also followed Nebraska Cornhuskers football closely. He gave generously of himself to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Harold; and his grandson Adam. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Myra; his children Stuart (Joy) and Gwen (Eric); and his grandchildren David, Leila (Josh), and Sasha.
