Robert Vincent Scannapieco, aka Bobby Scann, 71, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, NV joined the love of his life, Susan Williams Scannapieco (deceased), in heaven on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Mt. View Hospital. He died none the less from complications of a heart attack. He was born to Angelo and Lenora (Forgione) Scannapieco on August 28, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA.
He attended Valley Forge Military Academy (PA) before entering the US Army band. Afterwards, he received a BA in Music from Temple Univ.(PA) and a Masters in education from UNLV. He was a freelance trombonist in NYC before moving to LV in 1972 and played for entertainers on the Strip and abroad, such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis, Tony Bennett, Pia Zadora, Al Ramsey Orchestra, Lou Flias Orchestra and many shows on the LV Strip. Later he worked as a music teacher in the Clark County School District. Here he met Susan and they married October 11, 1980.
He is survived by son Brian Scannapieco; daughter Kathryn Scannapieco Colwell; son-in-law Ronald Colwell Jr.; grandson Christian Colwell; sister Nancy (Martin) Poultney; nieces Rebecca and Laura Poultney; and nephew Alex Poultney.
Bobby enjoyed sharing his experience of music with his students and composing and arranging charts. He loved God, music, his family and friends especially socializing over a good meal.

Services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Visitation and reception 11:00am - 1:00pm, with a Celebration of Life from 1:00pm - 3:00pm followed by a burial at 3:00pm.
