He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Shirley and his mother Cathern Shirley, both from Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Terry Shirley; his son Evan Glenn Shirley; daughter-in-law Lijuana Shirley; granddaughter Teyah Bryant Shirley; and sister Bonnie Fay Holt.
Roger served in the United States Air Force as a computer operator from 1979 to 1988. Following his time in the service, he worked at NV Energy as a computer analyst for 28 years.
Anyone who knew Roger, knew he was an Alabama Crimson Tide Football fan.
A visitation for Roger will be held at Palm Mortuary at 7600 S. Eastern Avenue on Thursday, April 8th, 2021 from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm and the funeral will be held on Friday, April 9th, 2021 at 10:00 am.
