Russ had been battling stage 4 colon cancer for nearly 10 years. His love for and faith in God, along with his will to persevere, enabled him to continue to live life much longer than doctors expected.
Russ grew up most of his life in Virginia Beach. He loved sports and the water, was an avid water skier and boater. He grew up playing baseball, and loved coaching children, especially those less privileged.
Russ was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be united in Heaven with his beloved wife, Linda, who passed away from cancer just seven months prior to Russ's passing. Other family members preceding Russ in death are his parents, Josephine and Richard Terbeek, older sister, Linda Lambert, as well as grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
He leaves behind his son, Nicholas, daughter Kristen and son-in-law Shawn, younger sister, Tina, as well as a step-daughter, granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Russ has been a true example of walking in faith day-by-day. He has been, and will continue to be, an inspiration to all who have known him. He will be dearly missed.
