Sarah Josephine Keogh

Las Vegas went home to be with the Lord on September 17, 2021. She passed away unexpectedly at St. Rose Sienna Hospital in Henderson, NV due to complications from Covid-19.

Sarah was born on April 2. 1939 in Derry, Northern Ireland, the daughter of James and Emma Doherty. Sarah married her husband John Keogh on August 1, 1959. In 1967 they immigrated to the United States with their three children. In 1976 they had their fourth child.

Sarah was a Stay-At-Home Mom who dedicated her life to her children. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a grandmother (Nanny) and great-grandmother (Great-Nanny). In fact, her best friend for the past three and a half years was her Great Grandson, Brennan. Brennan was born in March of 2018 and was her world from day one. They played with each other like little buddies and had an indescribable bond.

Sarah’s family used the following words to describe her: sassy, loving, funny, adorable, witty, caring, strong, a hero, encourager, brave, Irish and proud, bold, beautiful, resilient, endured, tough little Irish woman and most of all the strongest person they ever knew. She taught her children values and the importance of being well mannered, honest, kind, respectful, empathetic, compassionate, grateful and forgiving.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents James and Emma, three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter Donna and husband Billy, her son Paul and wife Joanie, her daughter Jacqueline and life partner Cal, her son Seamus and wife Julia, her “son” Richard, her granddaughter Keri, granddaughter Shannon and husband John, granddaughter Dana and husband Tony, granddaughter Rebecca, grandson Ryan; step-granddaughter Ashlend, step-grandson Matthew; great grandson Sean and great grandson Brennan; her brother Leo and wife Mary and lots of nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be dearly missed by all.

A visitation for Sarah will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. It will be followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and a committal service at 3:30 PM.
