

Ecclesiastes 3 1.There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens; 2.a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4.a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.
Theodore Ervin Baxter was born on June 27,1934 to Zana Holt Baxter in Raleigh North Carolina. Theodore was the youngest of (6) children: Isaac, Elizabeth, William Beecher, Doreatha, and Alma. His mother Zana; his daughter Deirdre and all his siblings preceded him in death.
Theodore graduated from Washington Highschool in Raleigh , NC. He met Gloria Hill,the love of his life at an after school event. He was 15 and she was 12.
After graduating from high school, he enrolled at Shaw University. After completing 2 years, Theodore and Gloria got married June 7, 1955. They were so happy together and began to start a family. He decided to enlist in the United States Airforce where he served honorably for 23 years.
On October 18,1956, the loving couple welcomed their first child, Deirdre Charissa. Thirteen months later, another daughter Loyce Antoinette was born. Three years later they welcomed their first son, Theodore Ervin Jr. Thirteen months later, they welcomed another son, Steven Anthony.
During his years in the air force, he served in Reno, Nevada; Okinawa, Japan; Reno, Nevada (again); Travis Air Force Base, California; Thailand; Germany; and Nellis Airforce Base where he retired.
After retiring from the United States Air Force, he began a career at the Las Vegas Valley Water District. He retired after 20 years of distinguished service.
In May of 1981, Theodore and Gloria became the 13th and 14th members of Unity Baptist Church, Las Vegas, Nevada. Theodore served as a Deacon; sang in the Men's Choir and served on many ministries.
Theodore's hobbies and interests included photography, fishing, hunting and most of all spending time with his family.
The sun that shined on the life of Theodore Ervin Baxter Sr. set on May 10, 2025, as he was summoned by the Heavenly Father to come home.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: His wife Gloria, 3 children; Loyce, Theodore Jr., Steven (Alicia), 8 grandchildren: Diahnna, Dorian (Genie),Michael (Lindsey), Anthony, Taylor, Kerby, and Carson. 5 great grandchildren: lsabelle, Roman, Emery, Kali and Solara. 3 very special people that he looked to as his extra children: a son Steven Thornton , Darlene Baxter and Taunia Baxter as daughters. Many nieces, nephews and friends.
