Victoria Alcazar Ramos, fondly called “Betty” by beloved family and friends, lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1999 from Southern California, passed away on July 16, 2021 at her home after valiantly fighting the big C.
She was born August 26, 1937 in Calbayog City, Samar, Philippines to Judge Celedonio Alcazar and Victoriana Villasin. She was the fourth of five children: Inday Ortiz, Cacoy Alcazar (deceased), Mellie Santos (deceased) and Angeling (deceased). She found her soulmate and partner for life at the age of 27, when she married Tim Ramos of Matnog, Sorsogon, Philippines. They were blessed with three children: Bambi, married to Romell Concepcion; Jojo, married to San Tuazon; and Erwin (deceased) married to Joy Zapanta.
Betty received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Santo Tomas in 1959. She worked at Bureau of Lands then landed a Pharmacy job at the Veterans Hospital where she retired before she and Tim migrated to the US in 1991.
Betty’s passion was cooking her specialty dishes: Callos and Humba, which everybody loved and always looked forward to every time there was a family reunion. Tim and Betty were devoted to each other, almost always together in everything that they did, which made them inseparable. She had a wonderful smile and laughter that could light up a room. Betty was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to everybody. “To know her was to love her.”
She is survived by her husband, Tim; her daughter, Bambi; her son, Jojo Ramos; and grandchildren, Paolo, Brielle and Enzo, who brought joy to her heart.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery located at 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
A funeral service will be the following day, Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 1:00pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery. Reception will follow right after the funeral service at 2644 Galactic Halo Avenue, Henderson, NV 89044.
