Late to this site, but they always say better late than never. I live in Florida and only found out about Virgils passing a few months ago. I met Virgil years ago through a mutual friend. Never in my life had I met a person so genuinely warm, friendly, caring, and welcoming.  Virgil genuinely  loved people and had the ability to make everyone  feel welcomed and cared about. In reading through  his fb page it warms my heart to know that Virgil received as much love in return as he gave to all that he knew. Heaven has truly gained another angel. Soar high my friend. I definitely had my grandpa back at all times . I had no Clue who he was talking to but still helped him get his point across . One of my favorite memories with him I thought I’d share . 

This is his only Daughter and four Grandchildren.

My precious Virgil,  I remember the last time that I sang to you, and you responded back... you were in tears. That's just the kind of friend that you were to me. I remember calling you in the hospital and watching you struggle... wanting to be there so badly, but it wasn't meant. We were going to sit in our tea house, talk, and enjoy life you, Coretta, and me. It is my prayer that I can live the life God wants me to, so I can see you again. I love you so much I miss you more than I have the words to explain. Thank you for making a difference in my life love of mine... 143, you know what it means 💕

I’m so sorry to hear of Virgil’s passing. He was a very special man and boy. We grew up around the corner from each other and this is painful. We spent many days in our youth at church meetings, singing and always a lot of laughter. You all have my prayers for strength and always my love. Sister Barbara

I remember when u directed the choir. And when you my mama and daddy would sit in are livingroom tell us kids how yall use to dress and joking and having fun big cuddy you introduce me to mary j blige and ever sense then i fell in love with her music and when you and my mom use to go to smith bakery to get cookies their not a bad or dule memory i have for u god has truly got amazing angles. I love you cuddy and to ppl who dont know me am Dennis washington daughter.  And my mother is minerva Washington

Hey beautiful V, we now know why we got the most gorgeous sunset tonight, and that sweet rainfall from the heavens. I can only imagine your view. I can still feel your big bear hugs, I hope your family can feel the love and warmth of your spirit too, nothing will ever take that from us. I love you V!
