William (Bill) Charles Burns passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 at the age of 78. His children were with him when he passed.
Bill was born on August 12, 1946 in Worcester, Massachusetts to James and Muriel Burns. He was the middle child of three brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers James Jr. (Jimmy) and Kenneth (Kenny), and his nephew Kenneth Jr. (Kenny). He is survived by his son, Bryan; his daughter, Alyson; his nieces, Alysa, Bridget, and Molly; and other loving family members.
After leaving Massachusetts in the 80s, Bill made his way across the States. He finally settled in Las Vegas in 1986, where he met his ex-wife Alice and they had their two children. Although he left his hometown for the West coast, he never lost his east coast Boston pride. Bill loved watching football – anywhere he went, you could hear him talking about the best team in the nation, the New England Patriots. He loved to play poker, watch the news, and tune in every week to his favorite shows – never missing a season of The Young and The Restless (all 50 of them). Bill was an avid sports-bettor and happily exclaimed “winner winner, chicken dinner!” when he won his bet, or blamed the refs when he didn’t.
Bill was a stay-at-home-dad to his two kids, and he dedicated his life to them. He was known by those around him for his bold yet charming personality. His witty sense of humor was unmistakable; he was never short of a sarcastic comment or too afraid to speak his mind. He possessed a carefree outlook on life that rubbed off on anyone who crossed his path, bringing much needed joy into the world through simple everyday interaction. Bill was a loving father, friend, son, brother, uncle, and much more, and he will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charitable organization of your choice.
