

William J. Felix, 89, of Henderson, passed away March 6, 2013. He was born April 22, 1923 in Indiana and raised in Hoopeston, Illinois. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific theater during WWII, was injured and received the Purple Heart.
He left Illinois in 1952 and taught school in Whittier, California. Bill became Principal in 1960 and served 40 years in education until he retired from West Covina Unified School District. In 2000, he and his wife moved to Henderson, Nevada. Bill loved sports, enjoyed traveling, and was an active participant in the Henderson, Black Mountain Detachment of the Marine Corps.
Bill was preceded in death by his grandchild Jeff Mosier, and step daughter Laura Roberts. He is survived by his wife Lorraine; Children: Janet (Richard) Trott, George (Nancy) Felix, and Barbara (Robert) Schweitzer; Stepson, Darrell (Ingrid) Davies; brother-in-law, Robert George; brother, Dale (Mary) Felix; five grandchildren: Jonathan (Deborah), Jennifer, Bill (Laura), Becca (Gus), and Emilie; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday March 12, 2013 from 3-7 PM at Palm Mortuary located at 7600 S. Eastern Avenue. Funeral Services followed by burial will be on Wednesday March 13, 2013 at 10:40 AM at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive.
