Winnie Ruth Holmes

Winnie was the 6th child born to the late John McFall & Eugenia Bishop April 3, 1935, in Ashdown, Arkansas where she grew up with 6 siblings. At the age of 17 she moved to Los Angeles, California to live with an older brother where she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1953.

She married the late George Holmes Sr in 1965, and they lived their retirement years here in Las Vegas. George & Winnie were “best friends”. Winnie is survived by one brother John McFall (Mariam) of Colorado, her daughter Pamela Curtis (Michael) of Las Vegas, her son Darnell King of San Francisco, Stepson, George Holmes Sr of Kansas, son Allan Scott (preceeded in death) & Goddaughter, Tavolaun Stapleton (Jeff) of Moreno Valley, CA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

The Family of Winnie Holmes acknowledges with deepest appreciation and gratitude the many comforting expressions of sympathy through cards, flowers, telephone calls, visits and every act of kindness shown during her illness and now in our hour of bereavement. May God bless and keep you always!

A visitation for Winnie will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A graveside service will occur Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
