Mr. Doris “Big D” Venable, age 77 of Ethridge passed away on October 14, 2014 at his residence. He was a native of Lawrence County, retired from Murray, Inc. and worked twenty-four years at Lawrence Co. Airport. He was a member of the Ethridge United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Faye Venable of Ethridge, TN; three sons, Stuart Venable of Utah, Owen Venable of Ethridge, TN, Kevin Venable of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Beverly Hamlin of Loretto, TN; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Ramona Crepeau of New Orleans, LA; one sister, Minnie Stanley of Lawrenceburg, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rexford and Minnie McCrary Venable.
Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Chapel, Friday, October 17, 2014 at 2 pm with Phillip Jaco & Lewis Davis officiating and burial in the Old Ethridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo, Thursday, October 16, 2014 5 ~ 8 pm.
