

Dorothy Irene (Ray) Gallaher passed this walk of life on December 31st, 2017 at her residence. She was a native of Wayne County where she resided for several years before moving to Lawrence County where she worked at Gallaher Dry Good Store and had retired from Stant and Slant. She was a member of Cannon Freewell Baptist Church.
She enjoyed working in her garden and in her flowers. Most of all, she enjoyed frying pumpkin pies for her husband and family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Jim Mack Gallaher, One Son Homer Dee Gallaher, Six Brothers Harley, Jesse, Leonard, Floyd, Leroy (Ted), William Ray, Three Sisters Rosie Lee, Lessie Clayton, Viola Kelly.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Ray Gallaher and wife Glenda, One Daughter-in-law Sonja Smith Gallaher, Four Grandchildren Dwight (Tina) Gallaher, David (Connie) Gallaher, Angelia (Trent) Franklin and Tammy (Randal) Hayes, Great Grandchildren, Jeremy (Beth) Gallaher, Jessica (Mikie) Russell, Andrew (Courtney) Gallaher, Matthew (Stacey) Gallaher, Miles and Holly Franklin, Brandon (Christina) Gallaher, Dereck (Mary) Tripp, Great-Great Grandchildren Caiti and Addy Gallaher, Preslie Russell and Lane Gallaher, Hunter Dee and Levi Gallaher, Clara and Naomi Tripp.
Visitation will be held at the Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral service will be held at the Chapel on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Pete Turnbow and David Gallaher officiating.
Interment will be at Gallaher Cemetery
