He is survived by his wife Elsie Shouppe Slater of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons, Greg Slater and Steve (Dana) Slater all of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Debbie Sneed of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, David Slater of Leoma, TN, Keith Slater of Prospect Community in Giles Co, TN, Van and Sam Slater both of Lawrenceburg, TN; one sister, Janis Appleton of St. Joseph, TN; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Slater and his parents, Nathaniel and Ruby Louise Bailey Slater.
Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Chapel, Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11 am with Charles Grisham officiating and interment in Bumpas Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo, Tuesday, August 28, 2013 at 5 ~ 8 pm.
