Cassandra Carol Baker

Cassandra Carol Baker, our darling Cassie, 30, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2025, at home in Round Rock, Texas. She was born in Austin, in March of 1995, to the delight of her parents, Mark and Susan Baker.

Growing up, Cassie enjoyed the love, camaraderie, and companionship of her older sister and younger brother. She loved the peacefulness of solitude as well, and would often slip away just for quiet contemplation, or to take hikes or bike rides and immerse herself in nature, which she valued so deeply.

Cassie graduated from Leander High School, where she was a member of Color Guard with the marching band. Some of her happiest times were spent laughing and practicing with her friends there. At games and competitions, she rarely accepted help with her sometimes voluminous equipment, insisting that she should always carry her own bags, a metaphor for how she lived her life.

She spent a valuable year at Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, then returned home, and met her partner in 2015. The two of them built a life together, supported each other and enjoyed living in Austin. The birth of their beautiful baby in 2022 was the happiest event in Cassie's life, and it came naturally to her to pour her heart and soul into being a wonderful mother. She enriched their lives with walks to parks and playgrounds, reading, and taking good care of pets - especially the dogs, who she loved so dearly.

Cassie lived in an understated way, never self-aggrandizing, given to deep thought and empathy. She could be relied on to listen for however long when someone needed to "vent", and conversely, loved to laugh and joke around with her friends and family. A pure of heart, gentle spirit, Cassie will be with us in every soft breeze that blows.

Cassie is loved and missed by her partner and her daughter Avery as well her parents, Mark and Sue, and her brother Nick. She joins her sister, Shelley, and dwells in our hearts forever.

A casual memorial gathering will be held January 10, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 at Christ Episcopal Church, 3520 W. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613.
