Draven Rains Avila

He will live on in our hearts and memories as a kind and funny soul who reached out and added a little something to every person’s life he met. He had a unique way of connecting to people with his ability to listen and making you feel like it was all going to be okay. He did not meet strangers or enemies; he met people with acceptance and understanding. He will be dearly missed and loved by many.

He had a passion for life and when he set his sights on something, he did it 100 %. He learned to skateboard, rip stick, ride a unicycle, play frisbee golf and play the guitar. Rains took part in debate and loved Showing pigs for his High School FFA. He won the Grand Champion Swine buckle and banner for all of Travis County in his very first year and more awards and ribbons for grand champions and first places in his years after. He loved to show, and was there supporting and helping others as his peers did for him.

He loved animals, especially Murphy, his adopted dog, spending time with his friends playing pool, frisbee golf, motorcycles, hiking, traveling, his pasta, and beef bits, gravy, and rice (as he called it) his favorite home meal.

He went on to continue his education at Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) Arizona as a Motorcycle Technician III, graduating with an Associate of Occupational Studies Degree and found a job in his field he loved.

Rains is preceded in death by his nephew, AJ Hyder.

He is Survived by his Father, Alan Avila; Mother & Pops Gina & David Valdez; Sisters, Jackie Rhoads, Leah Berry (DJ), and Lala Avila; Brothers, Anthony Montoya, Aric Valdez, and Mike Haggard; Nieces & Nephews, Asher, Auryon, Ronin, Avianna, Rasmus, and Ivy; Grandparents, Alberto (Amelia) Avila and Sung Chong; Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his Best Friends Matthew and Megan.

A visitation for Draven will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1200 S. Bagdad Rd, Leander, Texas 78641, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Life after the services will be announced.
