Geraldine Lou Nell Curry

Geraldine Curry was born February 8, 1925 to parents Gerald and Lola Ellison of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the last surviving child, preceded in death by brothers Howard and Francis Ellison, as well as her husband Melvin Robert Curry and their infant daughter Gerre Lou Ellen Curry.

She met her husband in 1942 while he was in Naval Signal Training School in Indianapolis. He then served aboard an LC1 Landing Craft Infantry during the invasion of Normandy.

On returning to the states and Indianapolis, IN, he proposed and they married December 12, 1944. Then off to Los Angeles, CA for their honeymoon and meet his family.

They had four children, the deceased infant Gerre, daughter Beverly Ann and son-in-law Kirk Hogue of Cedar Park; whom she lived with her final 16 years, son Robert Dale and daughter-in-law Loyce Curry of Austin, and daughter Laura Elaine and son-in-law Jay Judice of Rockdale. They also had one granddaughter, Heather and her husband Kevin Wilson of Leander, along with two great grandsons, Dalton and Landon Wilson.

She also has step grand-children by daughter-in-law Loyce, son Alan Robinson and daughter Becky Robinson. Also son-in-law Jay has three daughters, Mandy Vachon, Taryn Sabra and Ember Judice.

On June 1984 Geraldine, her husband and their sixteen-year-old daughter, Laura, moved from Indianapolis, IN to Austin, Texas to be near their daughter Beverly and family. Three months later, Bob Sr. passed on September 11, 1984.

She had a daycare in her home in Anderson Mill from 1986 to 2003, with newborns to age two, including her two great-grandsons. All seventeen over the seven year period won’t remember, but they brought smiles to her life.

A visitation for Geraldine will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 1200 S. Bagdad, Leander, Texas 78641. A reception will be on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.,1200 S. Bagdad, Leander, TX 78641. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 1200 S. Bagdad, Leander, Texas 78641. A graveside service will follow the reception at 1:30 P.M. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
