
She was born on November 13, 1936, in Leander Texas, to T. Chester McCown, and Millie Bell (Schoenfeld) McCown.
For many years she worked as a Cosmetologist/ Beautician and in the semiconductor industry in the Austin area. She was a devoted mother to David and Glenn.
She enjoyed sewing and drawing pictures. One of her greatest loves was being outdoors. She was very much a peace tending to her flower gardens, feeding the wild birds and watching all the wildlife that surrounded her home in Leander.
She is survived by her two sons David and wife Janet Hancock of Round Rock and Glenn and wife Sherry Hancock of Walburg. Two grandsons Gary Hancock and partner Deborah of Marble Falls and Steven Hancock and partner Allison of Cedar Park. She also had 4 bonus great grandchildren.
She is survived by one brother Virgil McCown and partner Rona of Bertram, two sisters, Alice and husband Fred Kaufman of Georgetown, Anna and husband David Ashley of Ohio. And many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, and one brother Melvin McCown.
There will be a short viewing for the family at 9:00 AM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 1200 S. Bagdad, Leander, TX 78641. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Bagdad Cemetery, 400 N Bagdad Road, Leander, TX 78641. A reception will follow from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services
