
Marylyn was born January 7, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Mary Schedel. Marylyn was one of five children.
Marylyn grew up in Chicago and attended Hyde Park High School and married early to her husband of 61 years, Calvin Combs, who served in the Air Force for 20 years. Marylyn always wanted to travel around the world, so being a military wife she got to travel to England, Okinawa and many states. Marylyn and Calvin had five children. Marylyn attended Moody Bible Institute with her grandmother and her Sunday school teacher led her to the Lord as a young child. Her and her grandmother always sang "Jesus Loves Me." She got baptized many years later in 1968 when she attended Park Forest Baptist Temple which is now Sauk Trail Baptist Temple in Richton Park, Illinois. Marylyn had many jobs including a switchboard operator at Arrow Photo Company, Chicago, IL, a clerk at Danny's Discount Drugs, Lacon, IL, and retiring after 10 years as office manager for Dr. Masood Ali, Washbourn, IL. Marylyn enjoyed traveling, reading, playing games on her iPad, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of Victory Baptist Church, Cedar Park, TX.
She is survived by her four children; Lorelei Snell, Rockford, IL, Linda (Tim) Goodman, Toledo, OH, Vera Ordonez, Leander, TX and Calvin (Elke) Combs, Jr., Nashville, TN; 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Carol Trimble, Chicago, IL, Diana Zaimi, Chicago, IL, Marianne Schul, Redlands, CA; sister-in-law, Lucy Cejalvo, Redlands, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father; her husband, Calvin Combs; daughter, Valerie Combs; her brother, Roger Cejalvo and many friends and relatives.
Her memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Rick Brann on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11 am at Victory Baptist Church, 1775 E. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the Victory Baptist Church Building Fund, as she was a member for close to 20 years.
