Ruth Charlene Glass

Charlene moved to Texas to live with her Dad and Stepmom, Gladys, when she was 13 years old. She attended Allan Junior High School and Austin High School in Austin. Charlene went on to nursing school at the University of Texas of Austin and St Mary’s University in San Antonio. Following graduation, she worked at St David’s Hospital as an operating room nurse most of that time until she took a job with Austin Anesthesia for the last 10 years of her career.

Although Charlene never married, she loved her family: brother, sisters , nieces, nephews and their families, and her best friend Crickett Chappell. She loved the whole Chappell family.

Charlene was preceded in death by her Mom, Dad and Stepmom, her sisters: Katherine Mohr (Dewey) and Maxine Emerick (James), her brother: Don Glass (Katie).

She is survived by her nieces: Peggy Hubler, Glenda Atkinson, nephews: Mark Emerick, Kent Emerick (Laurie) Marty Glass, and Michael Mohr. Great nieces and nephews include Amanda Hurst, Scott Emerick, Randy Atkinson, Denise Czepiel, Jennifer Sukup, Travis Glass, Jeff Mohr, Chris Mohr, Diane Cline, Todd Williamson, James Lee Emerick, Mark Emerick Jr, Ralph Jolley and many Great Great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the Chappell family and many friends.

Charlene was kind, giving and loved helping others. She was playful and mischievous and brought joy to those around her. Her laugh and love will be missed by all.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 S Bagdad Rd in Leander, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the same location. Interment to follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
