Sally Ann Betts, 62, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on February 1st, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loved ones after a courageous battle with late stage ovarian cancer. Sally was a lifelong creative spirit, an artist, a dreamer, an intellectual thinker, an entrepreneur, and small business owner with big goals and boundless ambitions.
Sally expressed her creativity through crafting, painting, writing, and jewelry making. She was always trying new projects and embracing new hobbies. She was a nature and animal lover and always dreamed of traveling. Sally is survived by her husband, Scott Betts, her children, Jennifer Pena, Jeffrey Hammons, Cassandra Liverance, Jennifer Betts, Ryan Betts; her grandchildren,Tyler Lingafelter, Alexis Lingafelter, Kyle Lingafelter, Rylie Bennett, Mason Liverance, Oliver Liverance, Lilah Liverance, Skye Schultz, her great grandson, Owen Lingafelter; her brother, Russell Harrawood; her in-laws, whom she considered her surrogate parents, Ronald Betts Sr. and Sandy Betts; her brother in law, whom she considered a bonus sibling, Ronald Betts Jr. Sally was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia, her father, Marion and her sister, Sandra. Sally always put others first, family was her biggest passion and she loved them fiercely.
Sally always poured love, kindness and encouragement into others cups even when her own was running low. She lived life on her own terms and was unapologetically herself, and always encouraged others to do the same, seeing the beauty in everyone and embracing the flaws that make us all unique and human.
Her last several months weren’t easy ones, but she met them with courage, humility and resilience. She had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor, sometimes dark, but always well intended, taking every opportunity to lighten the mood by poking fun at herself and her circumstances to make others laugh and taking our focus off of our fears of losing her. Even during the most difficult time of her life, her focus was on her family and making sure we had a smile on our faces. She left an impact on all of us in ways she couldn’t have known. She is greatly loved, missed and remembered.
In honor of Sally, if you can take anything from how she lived her life, let it be this; stand tall, be proud, be you and remember “why fit in when you were born to stand out."
