Born in 1954 near Temple, TX, Sam was a whirlwind of energy from the start. He was tackling footballs and even driving cars at the young age of 10. He built bridges with his dad in his younger years and eventually created his own steel building business.
At 21, this self-proclaimed "full-blown hippie" had a divine encounter with Jesus that set him on a new path. From then on, Sam devoted himself to spreading love and laughter to everyone he met.
Sam's zest for life was contagious. His humor could light up a room, and his compassion knew no bounds. A beloved family man and pillar in the Christian community, he touched countless lives with his warmth and generosity.
He leaves behind a loving family: wife Cynthia, children Joel, Ashley, Monica, and Jennifer, their spouses Sara, Tyler, Jim, and Mike, and grandchildren Lyla and Jessica.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Promiseland and Life Family churches, Pastors, family and friends who stood with Sam in prayer and love until the very end.
Join us in celebrating Sam's life on September 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM, Promiseland Church (1504 E 51st St #200, Austin, TX 78723). Feel free to ditch the black - Sam would've wanted you in your Sunday best and brightest. Sam will be laid to rest following the service at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
