Violet Rose Kimnach was born December 17, 1942, in Columbus, Nebraska to her parents Philip Frederick Kimnach Sr. and Rose Gertrude Coldwell. Violet grew up in Omaha, Nebraska attending Catholic schools until her high school years where she met her first love and husband Dean Merrill Taylor at North High School. They met in study hall and proceeded to date and eventually drop out of high school to run away and get married. The marriage was first conducted August 17, 1960, in Logan, Iowa by the Justice of the Peace; and later blessed and formalized by a Catholic Church ceremony. She then went on to have two sons Dean Jr. and Ronald (Rocko).
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Phil Kimnach Jr. Violet is survived by her husband Dean of Leander, Texas, eldest son Dean Taylor Jr. of Leander, Texas. Youngest son Ron Taylor and wife Abigail of Round Rock, Texas. Violet has four grandchildren, Megan Taylor, Kaitlyn Taylor, Zachary Taylor and Dominic Dass.
Her and her husband remained in Omaha until 1974, before relocating to Central Texas for Dean’s tile company. She worked multiple odd jobs before eventually retiring to assist her husband with his tile business and the upkeep of their joint residential properties.
It was here in August of 1975 that she made the most important decision to surrender her life to Jesus Christ and was ever since a faithful disciple of His. Serving in the church where there was a need and most notably singing in the choir. Always an encouraging and humble spirit to those she crossed paths with (Matthew 5:3 - Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven).
Violet was a jovial and energetic person, filled with a great sense of humor and the ability to find humor in most situations, she was a private person who also knew how to have a good time, she was philosophical, witty, adaptable, and open minded with a thirst for knowledge and new experiences. She had a nurturing and empathetic presence and did her best to accommodate those around her. Even in her old age she maintained a youthful outlook on life and aged gracefully. Her hobbies over the span of her life included: dancing, baton twirling, bowling, partying, card-playing, reading, interior design, gardening, sewing, deep conversations, and going for walks with her dog Blueberry. She enjoyed her time with her friends, garage sales, and any excuse to get out of the house. People loved her for her warm and generous spirit; and she will be dearly missed by those who knew her most.
The family thanks the many families and friends who have offered encouragement, support and prayers during this time. We would also like to thank the Memory Care staff at Monarch Assisted living for their compassionate care and the caregivers with Heart to Heart Hospice.
