The Journey: Whitney spent the first 9 years of her life in Amarillo where she was blessed to be surrounded by family from her mother and father’s sides. From an early age, she participated in many different sports and activities where she was able to develop and display her God given athletic and social abilities. The family moved to Frisco, Texas where she would grow up and complete High School. She was blessed to have excellent parents that were heavily involved in all aspects of her life. Whitney grew up with an extremely loving and supportive family. Amadeo even coached her sports teams for several years. This beautiful soul made and maintained friendships wherever she was and at every stop in life. Most important of note is how strong her faith and love of God was at an early age. She learned that from her parents, who both have an incredibly strong relationship with the Lord. Along with faith, family was the other cornerstone of her life. Throughout her life, Whitney spent as much time with Christie, Amadeo, and Justin as she could. She would speak often about the great memories she had with them all during her life. This sweet angel was most definitely shaped by having great parents and a great brother that were always there for her no matter what life put in her way.
Among so many other things, Whitney was always beautiful, smart, kind, tough, resilient, and fun. After High School Whitney attended Southwest Texas State University which became Texas State University in 2003. There Whitney was named to the Dean’s list in her first college semester. Whitney was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority where she would make several lifelong connections. Many of these connections came through in a huge way during her battle with cancer. She was always so proud of being a Zeta. Whitney graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising.
This highly skilled and talented woman was successful at every professional venture from Fashion, Beauty sales to the Medical Industry. Whitney’s amazing mind and personality allowed her to thrive wherever she was. This woman could do anything she wanted to.
In 2009, Whitney would meet her future husband, Tyler, working as a sales executive at the company they were both at. The next year the two would marry in Austin, Texas at the Driskill Hotel. The following year her ultimate calling came. She became a mother to a handsome and healthy son named Jaxon. In 2016, she would give birth to their beautiful daughter named Kensington, and 3 years after that, their final child, another handsome son named Crew would enter the world. As talented and gifted as she was at most anything, there was nothing she was better at than being a mom and a wife.
There will never be a more selfless, giving, thoughtful, or caring mother and wife than Whitney. She spent the last 13 years giving every ounce of herself to taking care of her family. As an outdoor lover, she was always taking her kids to the park, on walks, and anything else that involved being active. Whitney was such a fun girl and that translated to motherhood as she constantly came up with creative things to do with the kids, especially during holidays. The most important thing to her was to be active and present each day with all three children. She savored every moment of watching her kids grow. Sharing her love of God was also a top priority. Their home life was filled with prayer and routine discussions about God. They went to church every Sunday, most recently at Leander Church of Christ. As mentioned earlier, Whitney forged great bonds with her most recent church family as well.
Whitney was a beach lover as she was much more of a warm weather girl. The family would go on trips with the kids a couple times a year and a lot of the best family memories are from those trips.
Aside from being with her kids, Whitney’s favorite things were working out, running (she used to run town lake every day when she lived in the city), being in nature, helping others, walking around target for hours, shopping with her mom, when her dad came over just to see her and the kids, spending time with her brother, watching Bravo shows, eating chocolate and drinking wine (God gave her a great ability to do both in moderation), just to name a few.
Whitney’s faith in the Lord was steadfast. Her love for him was not to be outdone. The most impressive thing about Whitney was her faith and love for God. She loved many verses in the bible, but here are a couple of note.
Philippians 2:3-4
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
Ephesians 3:18-19
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
All mankind is perfect in God’s eyes, but when he created Whitney, he certainly went the extra mile. He gave her a good bit of every characteristic it takes to make a great woman. There are no words to express how much she will be missed, but for the hundreds if not thousands that have known and loved her over her life, we know that she is in heaven with God almighty.
Note from writer and husband:
For a woman as incredibly perfect as my beautiful wife, there are not enough pages or words to properly do her justice or show her the proper amount of respect for a life so well lived. She was simply perfect. The world is a much worse place today because she is not in it. Whitney, thank you for marrying me and for our three beautiful children. Building our life together over the last 13+ years has been the absolute honor of my life. My prayer for us all is to live a life so that one day we see you again and celebrate with you in heaven. I love you so much, sweetheart.
