Doris M Pence

Doris M. "Pinky" Pence, 85, of Lebanon,died Monday, March 12, 2012, in Manor Care, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late George J. Pence, Sr. She was born in Lebanon in August 7, 1926, a daughter of the late John P. and Helen Walters Hummel. Doris was employed as chief civilian finance and accounting officer, retiring from Fort Indiantown Gap Military Reservation. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School, class of 1944; attended the Lebanon Church of the Brethren; and was a former member of the Order of Amaranth. She enjoyed walking with her friends at the Lebanon Plaza and K-Mart and was known for walking her dogs. She is survived by her son, George J. Pence, Jr., and his wife, Anita Bowman Pence of Lebanon; grandson, Michael P. Pence; and dogs, Cody and Lily Pence. She was preceded in death by a brother, John F. Hummel. Memorial service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Lebanon Church of the Brethren, 4th & Locust St., Lebanon. Interment will be in the Grandview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the GSH Hematology/Oncology Dept., 4th & Walnut St., Lebanon, PA 17042. Rohland Funeral Home, Inc., is handling her arrangements
