Having grown up in Pleasant Hill, he lived a very active and adventurous life. During his time at Cornwall High School, John actively participated in most sports and extracurricular activities, until his family relocated to the Lebanon School District. John graduated with the LHS Class of 1962, where he gave the invocation at graduation.
John honorably served in the U. S. Navy as a proud member of VP-8, an Atlantic Coast Anti-Submarine Warfare Squadron, flying the P3A Orion aircraft.
Working as an electric power system relay tech for 34 years, John retired from Met-Ed/GPU. He was a very dedicated and active member of the IBEW union.
John was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Karen Louise Quairoli, a grandson, Trent Snyder and his second wife Barbara Frey Quairoli, who passed in 2001.
John is survived by the love of his life, friend and companion, Kate (King) Quairoli, with whom he has been married for the last 19 years.
John is also survived by the most wonderful, beautiful and adorable daughter, Kim Frey Reynolds (spouse of Richard) of Gulfport, MS, whom he loved and cherished without any conditional reservations, from the moment she came into his life. Also surviving are daughters Dena Remlinger (Spouse to John) and Susan Stahl (spouse to Bill) and son Thomas Snyder, all whom he loved and bonded with from the very start.
Papa John will be dearly missed by the grandchildren who brought him great delight; Lindsey, Bradley, Oliver, Isaac, Hannah, Brandon, Ally, Meagan, and Sydney, as well as great grandchildren Malia, Jaxon, Kasen, Jaden, Shayla, Jack and Marc III.
John is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with a funeral service at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at the Covenant Greenwood Cemetery following the service.
So, let no dirge of sorrow be played for one who goes to meet the Lord, his task on Earth is done as the choir of angels come to take him to his Eternal Rest!
