Doris Ruth West

Doris Ruth West passed away peacefully on Tuesday,

December 29, 2015 at the age of 84, after a 3 month stay

at the St. Joseph Auxiliary Hospital Palliative Care Unit

in Edmonton, Alberta.

Doris was born in Edmonton on October 9, 1931 to Clyde

and Bessie Cunningham of Sunnybrook, Alberta.

Doris made a choice to serve God in 1942, at the age of 11,

near Sunnybrook. She moved to Telfordville, Alberta

to stay with Grandma Kelto when she was in Grade 12.

It was here she attended her first fellowship meetings.

Doris went through teachers college and taught fulltime

and later as a substitute teacher in various schools in Leduc

and Leduc County.

In 1954, Doris married Henry (Ted) West and they enjoyed

54 years together on the family farm before his passing in 2008.

Doris remained on the farm until April 2015 when she moved

to Beaumont.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Virginia(Tom)

Bradshaw of Leduc, and her son Keith (Sonnette)West of Leduc,

Grandchildren: Kyle Bradshaw, Cameron Bradshaw, Allison(Brandon)Sargeant, Lynette(Russell)Harper, Henry West,

Daniel West

Sister-in-laws: Vera(Howard)Cunningham and

Patricia(Glen)Grandgenet

Doris was predeceased by her parents, sister Audrey(Joe) Blondheim,

and brothers Clyde(Margaret) Cunningham and Howard Cunningham
