After completing training in Ottawa he was stationed in several detachments in Alberta over the years and retired from the RCMP after 20 years in 1977. He chose to remain in Leduc and start a new life and career when he became a realtor. This career change was significant as he met his life partner Wendy. Ed sold real estate for 37 years and retired in October 2014. He loved meeting new people, sharing stories and a good laugh.
He was passionate about home construction and built several homes in Leduc including a cabin at Pigeon Lake, which became an important part of his life. He enjoyed golfing at Black Bull, boating, entertaining and the evenings around the campfire with friends, family and especially his 4 grandchildren.
Ed also had a passion for travel. He loved the sand and the sea. Ed & Wendy travelled together every chance they had visiting hot spots throughout Canada, US, Caribbean, and Europe. His # 1 vacation spot was Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
In 2010 Ed was excited to find the sister he didn't know he had, Bernice. In the short time they had together they became very close and that extended to her loving family in NFLD and Ontario.
Ed had a great life with Wendy and was a loving and caring friend to all who knew him.
He had a good sense of humour and always stopped to chat with everyone he met.
