When my brother Robert and I were children we spent a few weeks of every summer with our cousins on the Fritz farm.  Although Frieda was our first cousin on my father's side of the family because of the age difference between us for many years we called her Auntie Frieda. I will always cherish my summers on the farm. It gave two city boys a chance to connect with nature in a way, which was not possible in town.  Being two city boys on the farm and not familiar with as all the does and don'ts of farming we always managed to get into some accidental mischief, whether it was flooding the farm yard by leaving the electric water pump running or leaving a gate open and allowing the livestock to get into areas where they didn't belong. Frieda and John were amazingly understanding concerning our mistakes and always demonstrated the patience of Job with us.  An educational talking too always sufficed so that we did not repeat the same mistake (or at least not too often).  In spite of the yearly disasters that my brother and I caused we were always invited back each summer. As time went by and we learned about and participated in the farm chores I hope that we were at least of enough  help  to them to outweigh the havoc that we sometimes had caused.  I will always be grateful for the caring and kindness that Frieda showed us and was truly shocked when I heard of her passing. She is truly a kind soul who will be sorely missed.
