It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Glenn William Worbeck on July 14, 2023 at the age of 69. Surrounded by the love of his family, we are grateful to have had his steady presence in our lives for as long as we did.
Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, he was raised and educated in Winnipeg and through his work in the automotive industry was transferred to Edmonton. He worked for various businesses in the Edmonton area until he found Dash Distributors with whom he spent 25 years. Once Dash was purchased by Uni-Select, he continued with them until he retired. After a couple years of retirement he was restless and drawn back to Uni-Select in another capacity until his passing. The love of his work, the people he worked with and his customers was an important piece of his life. It also resulted in long term friendships.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Venita; son Ryan, daughter Courtney (Marcus) Willshire; grandchildren Shayla, Bentley, Elsie, and Parker; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Monica and Don Minchau. As well as other family and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother Alice and father William, his father-in-law Ben, mother-in-law Elsie, brother-in-law Werner, sister-in-law Cindy, niece Pamela, and nephew Steven.
Our sincere thanks to the Leduc Hospital Emergency staff, the University of Alberta Hospital Emergency, ICU, and Hematology Departments doctors and staff who so aggressively treated Glenn, while maintaining thoughtful and care-filled respect. We cannot express our thanks enough for the kindness shown to Glenn and our family.
In lieu of a funeral service, there will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, August 11th, 2023 at Peace Lutheran Church, 4606-48 A Street, Leduc, Alberta. Please feel free to drop by anytime between 2:00 – 5:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
