It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Henry Otto Pueschel of Leduc, Alberta on May 27, 2025, at the age of 75. Henry passed away peacefully under the care and compassion of the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Alberta.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lotte and Kurt; his uncle Eric; and close family friend Karl Roessler.
Henry was born in West Germany in February 1950 and immigrated to Canada in 1958. He was raised in Whitecourt, Alberta, a frontier settlement at the time, where he honed his love for the outdoors through scouting, camping, and fishing.
Henry met the love of his life, Mary, at the U of A, where he also received a Bachelor of Education in 1973. Married that same year, they eventually settled in Leduc and started their family, embedding themselves in the community. Henry taught “Shop” at the Leduc Jr High School. His passion and skill for woodworking saw him complete his Journeyman cabinet maker ticket and start his own business, Pueschel Custom Woodworking, serving the local community and various others around Alberta and BC.
As a humble and giving person Henry engaged in his community through the Knights of Columbus, Scouts Canada, and Old Blades Hockey. Henry’s retirement meant working when he wanted and holidaying in between, having a passion for both. Henry and Mary travelled the world together enjoying each other along with special friends and family creating many great memories. He especially enjoyed cruising where he took the time to capture his thoughts from throughout his life. Henry’s legacy will live on through his mentorship, leadership and in his many creations.
