16 December, 1948 – 15 June, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Hainstock & Son Funeral Chapel

In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. James Brent Hill passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

Brent was born on December 16, 1948, in Deloraine, Manitoba. He is survived by his wife of almost 54 years Maxine; children: David, Jason (Jane), Sandy (Russ); grandchildren: Braden (Logan), and Xia; and great granddaughter Brynn. Also left to cherish his memory are his sister Alice Noreen (Dale); brother Fredrick John (Ember); and numerous nieces and nephews. Brent was predeceased by his father Thomas Alfred; mother Ruth Aquilla; and most recently his eldest brother Donald Wayne.

Brent was a jack of all trades and had many different careers over the years with his last job being at the airport driving a shuttle bus. He was a dedicated hard worker and loved what he did. He loved working on vehicles with his boys and teaching his grandson Braden everything he could about vehicles from a very young age. He loved old vehicles, and his favorite summer hobby was taking his old 1978 Ford to car shows and visiting with all his car buddies. He is going to be missed in the car show community of Leduc.

To know him was to love him, he had an infectious smile and laugh and would give his shirt off his back to help anyone he could. He loved his family with everything he had and in his last few weeks spoke very highly of his grand-daughter Xia and how proud he is of his “man of the north” grandson Braden. He was the rock for his wife and kids and the foundation of the family.

A family service will be held at a later date followed by an open house for the many friends he has made over the years.

The family would like to thank the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute for the care they provided to Brent.
