Born in Calgary, Alberta on December 23, 1940, Anne spent the majority of her life in Edmonton, where she built a home, a family, and a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering strength.
Anne is survived by her devoted sons, Curtis and Stephen; her cherished brother Bob (Bobbie); and her beloved grandchildren: Sydney, Parker, Presly, and Isabella. She now joins her parents, Clifford and Kathryn, in eternal peace.
In Loving Memory of Anne
It is a difficult moment when we must say goodbye to someone we love - and on May 16, 2025, we said goodbye to our beloved mother, Anne.
Throughout her life, Anne was a pillar of strength, laughter, and love for her family and friends. Whether offering a shoulder to lean on, a well-timed joke to lift the mood, or a delicious home-cooked meal just when it was needed most - she always knew how to show up with heart.
Following in the footsteps of her parents, Clifford and Kathryn, Anne pursued a career in the medical field. She graduated from nursing school in Calgary and later went on to work as a nurse at the Baker Clinic in Edmonton. Her compassion and dedication made her a natural in her profession, where she touched many lives with care and kindness.
Anne eventually married and raised two sons - a pair who still playfully debate over who was her favorite (the truth, of course, is something only she knew - and kept to herself with a knowing smile). What they both did know, without a doubt, was that they were fiercely protected and unconditionally loved.
Early on, Anne enjoyed bowling with her Community League friends, driving and watching her sons play sports, smoking many cigarettes, organizing the odd Community Hall “Greaser” dance party or later in life becoming a Nannie to her grandchildren; Sydney, Parker and Presly. Anne was going to church, finding God and participating in church social gatherings with her new friends. With the church, she also volunteered and participated in many charitable events like helping to feed the homeless with the Mustard Seed.
Anne was known for her sharp wit, her hearty laugh, and those bright, sparkling eyes that always seemed to be up to something. Her cooking brought comfort, her humor brought joy, and her strong spirit brought people together. She lived with grace, grit, and a deep love for those around her.
She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and laughter. Her absence leaves a space we cannot fill - but we take comfort in knowing heaven just gained one unforgettable woman. Our hearts are heavy, but we are grateful for every moment we shared.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Anne’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.
She was, and always will be, dearly loved - and deeply missed.
