Joe was born in Southampton, Ontario on December 14, 1943 to George and Alice (Beresford) Longmire. He was the youngest of 8 children. Joe will forever be remembered by many for his generosity and willingness to offer a helping hand, he was always willing to listen and offer advice when needed.
Joe married his first wife Elizabeth Ann when he was 18, together they had 3 children: 2 daughters and 1 son. He married his second wife Linda in 1975 and with her he had 2 more sons.
Joe is survived by one brother Bob (Robert) Longmire, daughters Vicki Lake, Penni (Tom) Watson and son Joseph Longmire along with their mother Elizabeth Ann, all of Ontario; sons Thomas (Lisa) Longmire of Beaumont, Alberta and Robert Longmire of Ontario, along with their mother Linda Thorpe of Edmonton, Alberta; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a large family of friends.
Joe was predeceased by his parents George and Alice, brothers George, Leonard, Gordon, Edmund, Ronald and sister Elizabeth.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held on Friday September 7, 2018 at Hainstock's Funeral Home, 9810 - 34 Avenue, Edmonton at 1:00 pm.
Cremation will take place after the service and inurnment will be held at a later date for the family.
