Karen was born on January 25, 1959, in Newcastle - Under - Lyme, England. She was raised in Talke Pits, England by her parents, Kenneth and Joyce, alongside her older brother, Ken.
As a child, Karen was a dedicated student and had a deep love for ballroom dancing, where she won many awards. After completing her schooling, she attended Newcastle College and later began working at Royal Daulton, where she excelled in the pottery industry.
At the age of 16, Karen met the love of her life, Andy Bebbington. They were married on February 25th, 1978, and began their life together in England before moving to Canada in 1980. They settled in Devon, Alberta, where they raised their two daughters, Lyndsy and Samantha.
Karen later earned her diploma in Early Childhood Development and discovered a passion for working with children. She became a valued Educational Assistant at Robina Baker Elementary School and Riverview Middle School in Devon. Karen was deeply loved by both her colleagues and the many children whose lives she positively impacted for over 30 years.
Karen’s love of dance continued through her daughters as they followed in her footsteps. Karen became passionate about her involvement with their dance school and served as a long-standing president of the parent association for the Devon School of Dance. She was always her daughter’s number one fan and to this day was actively involved with DSD.
Karen and Andy shared a love of travel and created many cherished memories with their family on camping trips throughout Alberta and British Columbia. In later years, Vancouver Island became a favourite holiday destination.
Karen was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was the heart, soul and backbone of her family - generous, loving, caring and selfless. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
