He is survived by his loving wife, Patty Dempsey; his children, Shawna, Tara (Duane), Mark (Kristen), Leah, Julie (Marco), and Jodi (Sheldon); 18 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Lionel, and brother, Randy.
Ken lived a full life as a contractor. He took much pride in all the work he did at the Chateau Louis Hotel (EDM), Kosmos (Leduc), multiple other projects, and his home that he fully renovated himself. He was a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and we all looked forward to receiving his game-day “Mapleleaf whiner” videos. He loved his Blue Jays and believed they will win the World Series this year.
Music was the heart of Ken’s life—whether playing his guitar around the fire, sharing songs at jams, or performing with his bands. He found joy in every note and brought that joy to others. Those who knew him will forever remember the way his songs filled the air and the spirit of togetherness he created through his music.
At Kenny’s request, no service will be held.
“Ken was the last man standing to turn off the lights; he will be the first man standing to turn on the lights when it’s our turn.”
