He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Pat; his mother, Karrie; and his children, Chris (Michelle), Leslee (Matt), and Kevin. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Dawson, Connar, Kaeli, Avery, Addison, and Parker.
Ken is also lovingly remembered by his brothers: Lyle (Karen), Spencer, and Shon; his in-laws: Darrell and Carla; and his nieces and nephews: Brittany, Samantha, and Bradley.
He is survived as well by his beloved shadow and loyal companion, Mr. Banks.
Ken was predeceased by his father, Jim, and his nephew, Tyron.
Ken was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and spent his early childhood in Black Diamond. During his adolescence, he moved to Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, where his passion for hockey and the great outdoors truly blossomed.
In 1972, Ken began his lifelong career as a 2nd Class Power Engineer. His knowledge and expertise took him around the world—working in places such as Dubai, U.A.E.; Cuba; Albania; Saskatchewan; and across many parts of Alberta. Ken eventually established his own contracting operations, which kept him semi-retired until his passing.
Ken was known for his deep love of nature, often taking peaceful walks wherever he was. He had a profound respect for the natural world and loved sharing his knowledge with his children and grandchildren on their many walks together.
One of Ken’s favorite places to explore was his cherished condo in Panorama, B.C.—a place that held everything that warmed his heart: the beauty of nature, time with family, and most of all, his soulmate of 50 years—Pat—with Mr. Banks faithfully by his side.
Ken’s family warmly welcomes all who wish to celebrate his life to join them at the Mulhurst Bay Legion on October 18, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Devon, Alberta Emergency Staff, doctors, nursing team, and EMS personnel for their exceptional care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Camp He Ho Ha.
