Terry May Kallis

Born on September 29, 1947, in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, to parents John and Irene Szmul, Terry grew up on the family farm where she spent her formative years. A talented athlete in high school, she maintained her competitive spirit throughout her life, particularly on the softball field.

On November 10, 1979, Terry married Raymond Kallis, beginning a loving marriage that spanned over 45 years.

Terry was a devoted mother to her three children: daughter Kelly and husband Tim; son Kim and his late wife Carol; and son Lockley and wife Heidie. She also had two stepchildren, Bobby (wife Tanya) and Raeleen (husband Andrew). She took immense pride in her grandchildren: Daniel, David (wife Alicia), Jordan (wife Jessica), Jared, Cody, Rebecca (husband Ethan), Rose, Kaitlyn, and Elizabeth. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Myles (10), Emily (6), and Emma (3). Terry especially loved teaching her grandchildren how to make cookies and perogies, passing down family traditions that will be cherished for generations.

Throughout her life, Terry found joy in gardening. Her green thumb was matched only by her warm heart and caring nature. Terry was a devoted Christian and loved her church community at Westerose Gospel Church, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.

Terry is survived by her siblings: Ferne (Billy), Marion, Judy (Allan), Myra (Pat), and Kelvin (Lori) Szmul; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene Szmul; her brother Perrie; sisters Jane and Lorette; brothers-in-law Lawrence and Charlie; and her daughter-in-law, Carol.

Terry's loving spirit and radiant smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.
