Vera, as she was affectionately known, was the eldest of three daughters born at Daysland, Alberta, to the late Conrad and Monica Dockendorf.
She was predeceased by her step-father Alfred Webber, and her sister Tracy Phillips. She is survived by her sister Cecilia Hamilton and brother Jim Webber.
Vera will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters: Sharon Buttar (Bob), Lynn Sveinsson (Del), Donna Hodgins and Fay Crone, along with her grandchildren Cori, Blair, Heather, Ryan, Kristjan, Kjartan, Carla, Dylan, Kaeli, Jordan and Samantha and several great-grandchildren.
After moving from Edmonton to Leduc, Vera enjoyed any happy years and memories near her growing family. She was known for her cheerful and caring demeanor, always willing to help others. She was especially overjoyed with visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lit up her life.
Vera lived an exemplary life, worked hard and set a great example for her family. She had many wonderful friendships. Vera enjoyed music and in her younger years she received accolades as a soloist at the Killam Music Festival. She loved to dance and be active.
In recent years Vera resided at the Planeview Manor and always expressed her appreciation for the kindness of the staff there.
In consideration of the current Covid-19 circumstance, a family memorial celebration will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Fund.
