Rev. Billy Ray Chamness, age 77 of Moody, AL passed away September 10, 2011. Bro. Chamness was founder of Peaceful Valley Baptist Church in Moody and the The Hour of Truth radio broadcast on WURL-Moody. He served as pastor for several churches over a 40 year period.
The family would like to thank the precious nurses at DCI Dialysis in Pell City and Cornerstone Rehab at Cook Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn McDaniel Chamness, daughters, Donna King (David), Darlene Davis (Gene), and adopted daughter, Bonnie Johnston, brother, Manuel Chamness, grandchildren, Denise Jones, Jason Stone (Jennifer) and adopted granddaughter, Pamela Johnston, 2 great grandchildren, Hannah and Austin Jones.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13, 21, 2011 at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Peaceful Valley Church in Moody with burial at Branchville Cemetery.
