

Jacob Shan Brantley, 40, a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend left this earthly home for an eternity with Jesus on May 15, 2024. A celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Odenville on Saturday May 18, at 2 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12 pm.
Jacob, a 2002 graduate of St. Clair Co High School, was a three-sport athlete where he played basketball, baseball, and football. Some of his awards were All State, All County, Football MVP, and the Bronze Bat Award. In 2006, he graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with his degree in Marketing and Distribution. That same year he married his high school sweetheart, Ashley. Together they started a life that was filled with many memories, adventures, and most of all love. Besides Ashley, his greatest accomplishments were his children Izzy B and Jentry. Some of Jacob’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and coaching his children and their teams. On any given day you could find Jacob at the ballpark or in a gym doing what he loved the most, coaching and giving back to the community. Jacob leaves a lasting legacy of putting others first, a heart full of kindness, and being a man of integrity who loved his family and friends very much.
Jacob is proceeded in death by his grandparents Alvin and Saraharte Byers and Ronald and Janie Lou Brantley.
Jacob is survived by his wife of 18 years, Ashley; children Izzy and Jentry. Parents, Jed and Lynn Brantley and sister Rachel (Josh) Capps. Mother and father-in-law Max and Jackie Taylor along with brother-in-law, Crockett Taylor. Nephew Jett Capps.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the many friends and family that have served and loved them during this difficult time. Jacob was a man of God who loved others and pointed daily them to the cross. May we all strive to live a life that was as full as Jacob’s.
