Mr. Burson was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Samantha Burson and Dylan Burson. He served in the Army during WWII and as a Deacon at Bethel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene Burson; daughter, Deborah Powell (Kirk); sons, Stanley Burson (Sandra), Jeffrey Burson (Lesa), Gerald Burson; sister, Jackie Waid (Leroy); grandchildren, Christopher Powell, Jay Burson (Sarah), Jonathan Burson, Lori Beasley (Teddy), Jeffrey Seth Burson (Jessica), Josh Burson (Carmen), Shelby Stewart (Greg); six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 6PM until 8PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 17, 2015 at 2PM from Kilgroe Leeds Chapel with burial at Bethel Cemetery.
