My thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with the McCollum family and also his friends and our classmates.  Such a great personality will certainly be missed.  God bless.

I worked with John for 16 years at Protective Life. The time past so fast and he left too soon. The many memories we all shared with him will fondly be remembered. Rest in peace my FRIEND.

It would take me a million years to tell you all of the things I have to be grateful for just from knowing you. You've been my friend through thick and thin. You've been my mentor through music. You've been wall to bounce things off of. You've been so many things through so many years.

You touched all of our lives and yet never seemed to know just how much you were loved. You were a humble man.

I will always carry a piece of you inside of me. Hopefully, others will be able to see it until it's my time to go.
