Lawrence E. Carmon passed away on June 5, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of many years Victoria L. Carmon; his children Dale & Tina Layman, Sydric & Micah Cochran, and Tiffany & Michael Ledet; grandchildren Keara Colafrancesco, Beth Colafrancesco, and Nathan Ledet; brother Donny (Dianna) Carmon; sister Lori (Tim) Rathburn; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was a loving, devoted and generous husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is fondly remembered by all for his generosity, cooking, and love of trains. He received an Associates Degree from Sullivan Community College and pursued a career in food and beverage management. He lived and worked in many places during college and his career. He took over The Homestead Restaurant, in Newark Valley, New York. He managed hotel and stand alone restaurants as well as a country club before he founded Larry’s Limos in 1996. He supported his communities with his work as a member of the Rotary Club, the Irondale Exchange Clubs’ charity work, providing limos for Make-A-Wish Foundation and the local schools’ special needs prom, and being a founding member of the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, to name a few. His successful career allowed him to achieve his goal of providing a wonderful life for his family, including lots of fun family trips, quality time together, cooking and baking together, amazing food, and volunteer work together. Of course, he was also able to indulge in his other passion: coffee. A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 10 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM from Friendship Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
